ABOUT US

The City of Elmwood is truly excited about being a part of the Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive.  With a a wide variety of vendors - including unique crafts, local eateries, handmade jewelry, antiques & more, our northern location is a perfect first stop for Spoon River Scenic Drive shoppers.

Elmwood itself offers a vast array of history which cannot be discussed without the mention of Lorado taft, who was born in Elmwood.  He is one of the most respect and well-know sculptors of the twentieth century.  In the middle of the Spoon River Scenic Drive's Elmwood site, you can enjoy his sculpture, "The Pioneers", which was unveiled on May 27, 1928.  Additional works are on display at  the Morrison and Mary Wiley Library as well as the Lorado Taft Museum - also located in Elmwood.
